I first learned of this place through a NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC article on NEW ORLEANS. But it was my good friend, Chad Blanchard, who took me there for first dinner, and ever since, I go there quite often when I’m in town. For one thing, it is in alignment to HARRY’S CORNER on CHARTRES STREET. But, I like SYLVAIN because they are hidden back, cozy, friendly, serve excellent drinks, and have a small, but exquisite menu. They also serve dinner ’til 10pm. Sunday Brunch features, among other choices, only one omelet of the day. I like that minimalist attitude. Currently, the Manager is ELEANOR, (pictured) whom I met early on, and is a favorite of mine!!

Shown are Beef Cheeks on bed of finely whipped potatoes…beef melts in your mouf!!  Also, Pan Fried Pork Shoulder on Grits, with Collared Greens not pictured.
