For up to the hour entertainment options, I suggest that you install New Orleans two most used event calendars into your smartphone or laptop:

90.7 FM RADIO WWOZ is the local public radio station that has a good list of events, plus you can listen to both the regular live broadcasts, or select the audio calendar listings for the day. Their announcers and music reflect the broad and eclectic range of musical tastes in New Orleans. There is surely something for everyone!!

OFFBEAT MAGAZINE is the heart and soul of musical expression, promotion, and appreciation for both New Orleans music, and Louisiana music. They state they are about Music, Food, & Culture…well, AREN’T WE ALL?!! (Y’ALL) I am a life-time subscriber which they offered after Katrina as a way to rebuild their business. You can get their app on your smart phone, and keep up with their info.

In addition to the above two sources, I also am a long time subscriber to COUNTRY ROADS, which is published monthly out of BATON ROUGE. They have an extensive calendar of events for both Louisiana, and some parts of Mississippi as well. Their specialty is to introduce readers to mostly rural, or small town events or pastimes, people, points of interest, etc. But, they also have restaurant reviews and features on New Orleans as well. This was the magazine that had a wonderful biography on IRENE DiPIETRO, of IRENE’S CUISINE, many years ago that inspired me to call her from California to compliment her. She was surprised that I would be reading this publication…BUT, OF COURSE!! And thatz why she treats me so well all of these years later!!

If you keep these resources handy, you’ll always have some options for your entertainment search!!
