ELIZABETH’S has had a succession of owners, but they have kept the original intent, and expanded menu, and hours. My first visit here back in 2003 or so was as guest of dear friend, Margaret, for lunch. I discovered on that New Orleans visit that both ELIZABETH’S and PORT OF CALL, and SNUG HARBOR, shared the same policy of serving huge baked potatoes with literally half a stick of butter plopped inside!! At Elizabeth’s, I ordered that day’s special, Meat Loaf…..Unbelievable portions and quality!! Had to take home half!!
I have since been back for breakfasts, and same quality/quantity paradigm!!
I suggest you Google, go over Menu, and then plan a visit!!
Here are a few images from our recent visit; loved my Fried Green Tomatoes on Grits, and the Praline Bacon, and especially our server, Gabriella!! Cover image is from friend Jeff Konkel’s visit: Fried Chicken Livers w/ Pepper Jelly and Grits!
